If you are curious about Northside Community and have some questions regarding Sunday morning worship, hopefully the following information will help prepare you for your first visit with us. If you have further questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us at derek@northsidecommuity.org.
What happens when I arrive?
As you come into our church building on Caledonia St., you’ll be greeted by a couple people from Northside Community. As you come in further, you’ll find a table with some markers and name tags as well an information card that shares some of the core values, mission, and meeting times of Northside Community.
Feel free to come a little early. We serve coffee in the fellowship area before the service starts at 10am. For us, this is a valuable part of building community together, making sure that our Sunday mornings are more than just a one hour programmed service.
What are the options for my children?
Under normal circumstances, we offer nursery for children 0-4 and all other children are with their parents in the service. However, because of COVID, we have temporarily closed the nursery. We understand that children can get squirrely. We also believe that the best way for children to learn to worship Jesus is by being with their parents as their parents worship Jesus.
What are your services like?
Most services last about one hour and include a message from the Bible, time to reflect and worship through singing, and communion. Communion is open to everyone who has made the decision to follow Jesus as both Lord and Savior.
What should I wear?
You can wear anything from a suit or dress to shorts and a t-shirt - whatever you're comfortable in. We are much more concerned about what’s going on inside of a person, than what they are wearing on the outside. Just come as you are.
Will I be asked to give money?
If you are new to Northside Community, please feel no pressure to give. We believe giving financially to God and His church is the right thing to do as part of the family. If you feel connected to Northside Community, want to call us your faith family, or simply have a desire to give, you may make an offering by placing your gift in the giving box located in the back of the sanctuary.
Do I have to be a Christian to come?
Jesus welcomed everyone who had a desire to come to him. Period. We try to do the same. Regardless of where you are at on your spiritual journey, we welcome you to be a part of our worship gatherings as we learn together what it means to follow Jesus.
